IM in the Spotlight
Real stories from IM models
IM agency is a place of caring, understanding, good hearted, and helping people. A test to that is the recently held “PSOaR High: Uplifting the Care of Psoriasis: Hug Me Campaign (To erase stigma that Psoriasis is communicable).”

What is Psoriasis?
Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune condition that causes the rapid build-up of skin cells. This build-up of cells causes scaling on the skin’s surface. Inflammation and redness around the scales is fairly common. Typical psoriatic scales are whitish-silver and develop in thick, red patches. Sometimes, these patches will crack and bleed.
IM’s very own Maria Fabiana and Tanner Mata were present during the said event. They both believe that people should be aware that Psoriasis is something we shouldn’t be afraid of for it is not communicable and contagious.
For Tanner, he has been attending events to inform people about it. He wants to stand and become an example to many about this matter. While for Maria, she’s been using social media to spread awareness so that people will follow her steps.
We asked Maria and Tanner on the learnings and realizations they had after attending the “Hug Me Campaign.”

According to Tanner, “Do not judge people immediately upon site. If you want to judge someone because of what they have, inform yourself on what it is instead of assuming what it is and or does.” He also added that, people should be educated or aware to keep them from being ostracized and keep their families and friends together.
For Maria, it showed her how strong people with Psoriasis are. She stated that these people are “True Warriors” and discrimination shouldn’t be part of anyone’s life. Maria stated and we quoted, “We are all the same, we are all together, and we should always be kind to one another.” She also said that, these people have so much love to give, and so much space to receive.
IM agency aims to change people’s perspective of being afraid of people with Psoriasis. It is not something to be afraid of. Everybody deserves to love and be loved.
